Quality Assurance Auditor

Red Deer, Alberta

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for self-inspection activities including cultivation, processing, and manufacturing, review of documentation and batch records, and upholding compliance with the Cannabis Regulations and corporate SOPs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Quality Assurance, Cultivation, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to ensure facility compliance with GPP.
• Complete daily audits of records relating to production, inventory, cleaning, sanitation, and equipment calibration.
• Perform in-process inspections during processing and manufacturing to ensure that quality standards are met according to Cannabis Regulations and corporate SOPs.
• Complete production batch record review and all required follow-up.
• Communicate and implement effective CAPA and promote continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulations.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Biology, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
• 1-2 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control
• Previous experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, natural health product, or food manufacturing is preferred
• Knowledge of the Cannabis Regulations is an asset
• Fluency in MS Office is preferred
• Clean criminal record
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be fluent in both spoken and written English
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Team player with a collaborative attitude able to work cohesively in a group or independently as required

Working Conditions

• Shift work may be required, which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Document Control Associate

The Document Control Associate is responsible for maintaining a compliant document management system including SOPs, production batch records, logbooks, and other controlled documents to ensure compliance with the Cannabis Regulations and corporate SOPs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the document control process including issuing, reviewing, distributing, and filing controlled documents.
• Track issued and effective dates for SOPs and controlled forms via electronic tracking.
• Oversee the review and approval lifecycle for all documents.
• Prepare and distribute batch records and logbooks as required by production.
• Communicate revision updates to all employees to ensure employee training is maintained.
• Oversee record-keeping and filing as required by the Cannabis Regulations.
• Assist with writing and preparing SOPs and other technical documents.
• Understand and enforce Good Documentation Practices in documents.
• Ensure compliance with safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and all applicable regulations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in Document Control, Document Management, or Technical Writing
• Previous experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, natural health product, or food manufacturing is preferred
• Knowledge of the Cannabis Regulations is an asset
• Fluency in MS Office and Adobe Pro required
• Knowledge and competency of technical writing is an asset

The Extraction Labourer is responsible for all elements of extraction cleaning and sanitizing, accurate record keeping, and pre- and post-processing procedures of cannabis and hemp.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Extraction Specialist, Lead Technicians, and Production Assistants on all elements of extraction, infusion, and post-processing procedures of various cannabis and hemp products as per regulatory standards
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the treatment facilities
  • Always maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area and facility including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulations
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Clean criminal record
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Experience with high-pressure systems and tubing an asset

Extraction Tech

The Extraction Technician is responsible for all elements of extraction, infusion, and pre- and post-processing procedures of cannabis and hemp. Main job functions include operating production equipment for cannabis and hemp extraction, front-end processing of raw materials, weighing, grinding, cleaning, drying, milling, loading extraction vessels, and post-treatment including wax removal, distillation, recrystallization and/or chromatography.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with Extraction Specialist, Lead Technicians, and Production Assistants on all elements of extraction, infusion, and post-processing procedures of various cannabis and hemp products as per regulatory standards
  • Operation, calibration, qualification, and maintenance of the downstream processing equipment
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the treatment facilities
  • Always maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area and facility including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
  • Communicate complex issues to Extraction Specialist for immediate resolution
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices, Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulations
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • CTLS Security Clearance is an asset
  • High School diploma
  • Clean criminal record
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
